The Romeo Monday Club is a large women’s organization based in Michigan that is dedicated to the enrichment of arts and regularly fundraises for arts scholarships. The Club asked me to create all the promotional materials for their newly established annual croquet tournament. It was requested to feature Alice in Wonderland characters and the infamous croquet scene. With this, I decided to go in a psychedelic direction inspired by retro concert posters and 70’s design elements. First, I started with illustrating the characters and flourishes on paper and then scanned these into Adobe Illustrator for the layout and typography portion. I used the Club’s pink and green palette in neon shades and a quirky typeface that I further manipulated with warping to achieve this. The final design also needed to translate well across digital and print pieces including posters, postcards, tickets, social media graphics, stickers, koozies, and napkins. We made sure to create variations that worked in every setting and the final result is groovy, baby!
